Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with an swivel wheel that rotates 360 degrees in front. They are, however, susceptible, to punctures. Make sure you have an emergency repair kit.

Sturdy frame

Figures have just been released revealing that the three-wheeled buggie which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sense is in a decline. They are being replaced by four-wheelers which can handle a wider range of terrain, yet still look swanky and being easy to push.

The rule is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or in difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn and 3 wheeled buggies year old and found it was able to withstand cobbles, grass rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath wrote "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasional pumping) have suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my children.

The size and shape of the seat is another thing to consider. The seat should be large enough for your child to feel comfortable and allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies come with the option of lying flat that lets your child face you, whereas others only allow a face-to-parent one.

A great option for those who want to tackle off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. Larger wheels

Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability while driving on rough terrain. This is perfect for off-road buggies. Additionally, they help you maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have swivel wheels at the front to aid in maneuvering around tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This is especially useful when you hit a tree or a kerb. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.

Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres that allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. They are prone to punctures, and you'll require a repair kit and spare inner tube on hand.

Some of our favourite 3 wheeled buggies-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to easily climb and descend kerbs. They also have a suspension system that in her words "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite large, and can be difficult to fit into narrow spaces. This is problematic if you intend to are using it as a jogger or you need to get through doorways that are narrow while traveling. The majority of models come with compact folding options, which allow you to remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to manoeuvre

One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it can be much easier to maneuver especially with a child in tow. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels can turn on a dime, and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her infant and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough terrain and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed with the way it handled the kerbs, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. I found it extremely steady when I was driving downhill or on uneven ground."

The only downside of this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean that it will struggle in tight spaces - something to keep in mind if you live in a urban region. If this is a problem, a 4-wheel buggy might be better for you.
